How this website counts visits, in plain words.

No cookies

This website does not use cookies. Nothing is saved on your phone or computer, and there is no advertising or analytics company involved. That is why you are not asked to accept anything when you arrive.

What is counted

So the shop knows what is useful on the site, we count a small number of things. No names, no phone numbers, nothing you type.

Page view	That a page was opened.
Call button tap	Which call button was tapped, not the call itself.
Uber Eats or Just Eat click	That an ordering link was followed.
Directions tap	That the map link was followed.
Deal tap	Which deal was tapped.
Menu section opened	Which part of the menu was looked at.

Each one is stored with the date and time, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and the name of the website you arrived from if there was one. Tapping a call button records that the button was tapped. It does not record the call, your number, or whether you went through with it.

The visitor ID

To tell a hundred visits from one person visiting a hundred times, each visit gets an ID. It is made by mixing your network address and your browser name with a random secret, then scrambling the result so it cannot be turned back. The address itself is never written down.

That random secret is replaced every day and the old one is destroyed, so the ID you get today cannot be matched to the one you had yesterday. You cannot be followed from one day to the next, and you cannot be followed onto any other website.

A scrambled network address still counts as personal data under UK data protection law, even though it cannot be read back. That is why this page exists.

How long it is kept

The individual records are deleted after 90 days, along with the secret that protected them. Before that happens they are added up into daily totals, such as how many people tapped call on a Saturday. Those totals are kept, and they contain no visitor IDs at all.

Who sees it

Only the shop. Nothing is sold, shared or sent anywhere else. The website is hosted in the United Kingdom.

Your rights and how to ask

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being counted at all. Because there is no cookie and no account, there is nothing that links a record to you by name, so in practice the honest answer to a request is usually that nothing identifiable exists. Ask anyway and we will explain what is there.
